Apartment Review for Camden Monument - Fairfax, VA

I have been living here for almost two years and enjoy it. Nice neighborhood, a pool, a gym, quiet apartments (rarely hear my neighbors) and parking garages. The parking garage for residents was one of the main reasons I moved into this place because at my previous place, it was hard to find a spot unless you paid for one of the very few designated parking spaces. The parking lot was free to use for residents and non-residents. At the Camden Monument facility, the garage is reserved for residents only and is gated, with a designated area in the garage outside the gate for guests. Unfortunately, this is only theory. In the real world, non-residents wait outside the gate until a resident drives in and opens the gate so they can follow us into the residential parking area. This is not something that happens every now and then. It happens every single night and causes paying residents to drive somewhere else to find parking. I have addressed this issue many times with the employees at the leasing office and was always told those people would be told if they had no sticker in their car. This never happened. No towing. Good news for guests, bad news for people living here. Yesterday, I spoke with one of the maintenance employees. The guy told me that he would wish more residents would speak up because the fact that Camden is not towing cars is based on ONE resident complaining that his friends (guest) car got towed because in his view, the place belongs to him as he paid for it. Well, I and the rest of the community paid for it, too and I am NOT WILLING TO PAY FOR OTHERS. The leasing office would never give apartment space to people without having them pay rent for it but because of this ONE guy, we are expected to give up what we pay for on a monthly basis? Dear Camden...Please finally start towing again. Otherwise - why do you have a gate when everybody is invited to park in the garage anyways? I thought so. Thank you =)
