Apartment Review for Carmel Vienna Metro - Fairfax, VA

We have been living at Carmel Vienna Metro for 8 months. I purposely have not written a review before now to make sure I had allowed for enough time for them to redeem themselves. The staff and management are a real problem at this facility. There are a number of amenities that are touted as huge selling points for this facility that they have consistently made either unavailable or difficult to use. Not only are the concierge services (the way to pick up your packages or parking passes) only available for a small window of time each day but often they are not there when they are supposed to be. On more than one occasion I have been unable to receive important packages for days at a time because no one was available to get it out of their facility. There have been two times that I have contacted the emergency maintenance service and received absolutely no return call. There have been numerous false alarms for the fire alarm system that have resulted in having to evacuate the building with my small child for prolonged periods of time. Their enforcement of use of the parking garage has a number of problems as well. We had a car towed within the first two weeks of moving in due to miscommunication from the concierge. We actually had acquired a parking pass but the date had been miswritten by the concierge. Despite the fact that our apartment number and our phone number had been logged, they did not contact us before towing the car. This resulted in a $120 towing fee that Carmel will not reimburse. Despite the fact that cosmetically the facility is rather appealing there have been so many inconveniences that have made us resolved to move out as soon as our lease is up.
