Apartment Review for Fairfax Square Apartments - Fairfax, VA

Hello, I lived here from 5/2006 to 5/2007. The property is lovely & well manicured. The club house is also very nice with a separate TV lounge area & business center. But who goes to their clubhouse to watch TV & hang out? The business center is really of no use unless you don't have a job and no computer. It closes at 5:30 pm. I don't believe in paying for something you're not going to use like the very small gym. The most important reason I left unhappy was due to the loud obnoxious noise from upstairs & next door college students. I reported them on several occassions but nothing was done. In addition, the bottom units all have serious bug problems. The units are as basic & cheap as can be. There are serious closet door problems and the washer area would always leak during storms. The outside doors would always come off track. You could every noise coming from the upstairs balcony as well. I have a toddler and a newborn and it was so annoying to hear the external doors being slammed throughout the night. Neighbors had loud parties every Fri & Sat & sometimes during the week. People here didn't care how loud they were coming in & out of their doors & into public hallways. The walls are so cheap and paper thin. Lastly, when I complained about maintenance problems, it really took weeks before anything would get fixed. Finally, I contacted the property owner who actually resolved my issues and was very nice. They installed new sliding closet doors and fixed the leak in the washroom. You have to write to the right people to things done here. If you have a family & are looking for a quite & peaceful place, I'm sorry but this isn't the place for you. If you are in college and don't care about the noise or how the apt looks, then this is the place for you. It's basic & almost affordable. I would never live here again.
