Apartment Review for Oak Knoll Apartments - Fairfax, VA

Rent is cheap and utilities are paid, but there is no lighting around the complex, my tires have been slashed due to the bad lighting by my car. HUGE HUGE roach problem, they say they have a exterminator, but he came in my apartment one time sprayed in three corners and left.

The air conditioning and heat are run by management. They have to wait for the water pumps to cool down before they can turn the air conditioning on (sometimes you're basically sweating to death before you get air conditioning) In the winter they warm up the water to make the heat work. My bedroom becomes a sauna whereas my living room is freezing cold but yet the "heaters" are on the exact same level (oh by the way the levels are low, medium and high) you don't get a choice how warm or cold you want it.

There are no dishwashers, there's no carpeting all old hardwood floors. Laundry onsite but is absolutely disgusting.

The "storage" is a joke, our storage with a lock and chain has been broken into at least 6 times, our stuff has been rummaged through but we hear "We're not responsible for stolen or damaged things"....hmmmmmmm

Vistor parking is absolutely dreadful! We have two cars and only one parking space allowed to us. My husband has to park on a "hill" that even if one tire is on the grass your car will be towed (don't ask, I don't understand either). We've been towed 4 times since we've lived here and 3 were for no reasons whatsoever.

The noise level is obnoxious if you don't have kids, the kids are extremely loud, they don't respect your personal property. The neighbors above us are so loud it's like they are living in our front room.

Management office is open from 8:00 - 5:00 but THE OFFICE IS ALWAYS CLOSED! ALWAYS! Did I mention ALWAYS! You can never get anyone on the phone, maintenance men are creepy.

I would only recommend this place to someone who is DESPERATE for a place to live. The only reason we live here is because well, we're desperate...but we're moving so we're thrilled.
