Apartment Review for Pinewood Plaza Apartments - Fairfax, VA

Just invest a little more time so you will not be trapped into a lease for a year in a place I promise you will hate living in!!!!!! FORGET ABOUT PRIVACY RESPECT AND COMFORT IF YOU DECIDE TO MOVE IN!!!!! I have trapped myself in a 12 month lease with Pinewood Plaza Apartments / Kay Management Inc. which I do not recommend to anybody and feel very sorry for anyone that signs one. I was very thrilled when I learned of Pinewood Plaza Apartments. I couldn't imagine finding anything better, for the price of the apartment I was initially shown and thought I have applied for. It was clean, remodeled, quiet and conveniently located minutes away for my job and school. I was told that the couple that had applied for it did not qualify which made me first in line if I got approved, which I did. When I came to the office to sign my lease, all packed and ready to move in, I was informed that the apartment I was shown and applied for was no longer offered to me and was given to somebody else!!!! The person that I applied with had switched locations to get away from the "wonderful" manager. With no-where else to go, I had to accept it. The apartment they now offered to me was located facing a major street with constant traffic, had major floor issues, with kitchen tiles coming off, a huge stitch on the carpet which was coming apart in the middle of the livingroom, a bathroom with cracked tiles and things coming off, basically a busted version of what I was shown. The manager promised to have things fixed, but all they did was glue the rotten floor to the tiles and called it a day. When my father and I tried to reason with the manager he insulted my father and talked to us like complete idiots. Forget about privacy when living here, the lease clearly states that maintenance can only enter without a notice if there is an emergency in the apartment. On numerous occasions we had maintenance visit our apartment without any notification, can you imagine being a young girl peacefully sleeping in your bed and being awoken by a men walking into your bedroom!!!!! or having your breakfast and the maintenance bust into your house and inform you that they are there because the a/c has been broken for couple of days now but they are only so eager to fix it now because it is leaking….. and this is their third day coming to your home but they didn’t expect to find you at home that day. Or the Maintenance scream at your family because they dropped something accidently of the balcony!!!! Oh and I hope you are nature friendly!!! We had a huge spider living on one of the bedroom windows, even though I lived on the top floor, ants in the kitchen, bed bugs, and a beehive on our balcony!!!!!! Oh and the wonderful neighborhood...... Really think about it when making your decision to move to Pinewood Plaza because you will regret it!
